Home Sharing is funded by Community Living British Columbia (CLBC). It is intended to provide safe, nurturing community-based shared living arrangements for adults with developmental disabilities. Since 2003, PDSCL has grown from supporting one (1) individual living in Home Share to over twenty-five (25). Our clients enjoy living in the community with the support of the Home Share Providers. This is a very rewarding job for Home Share Providers.
Assitance with self care, relationship building, life skills, meal preparition, personal care, use of community resources and services. Home Share Providers are expected to support individuals to become fully intergrated by treating them as equal participants in the home and community.
Share living is a supportive dwelling arrangement for adults with developmental disabilities. This could be a personal room in your home or an on-suite living area within your home.
Making sure people live high-quality lives in the community is a core principle of Home Sharing. It is designed to create a safe, community-based, family-oriented or equal participant in the home environment for those, whether it is with a family or a person becoming a Home Share Provider.
The Home Sharing Program is funded by Community Living BC (CLBC). Home Share is provided through a contract between PDSCL and the Home Share Contractor. It is then overseen by CLBC.
